The Madison Republican Committee welcomed noted conservative columnist and author Gordon Chang to its fall reception on Saturday, September 17 at the Madison Elks Club, 192 Main Street, Madison.
Mr. Chang, the world’s leading authority on China and its allies, Iran and North Korea, lived in Madison during his youth. His father Darwin Chang owned a restaurant on Main Street and was a longtime friend of fellow business owner Joseph Falco, Sr. Gordon Chang is a close acquaintance of Joseph Falco Jr. and accepted his invitation to speak to the Madison community.
Chang warned that the People’s Republic of China is preparing to go to war soon, and that the Chinese and Russians are much closer to one another than the rest of the world had thought. “I don’t care about whether the Chinese and Russians are still together two decades from now, I’m concerned about the here and now. And in the here and now, these two countries are working together. This was clear on February 4th when China, in effect, green-lighted the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. That was the day that they issued their 5,300 word joint statement that called on their ‘no limits’ partnership. After that, two Fridays ago, we had the third ranking Chinese leader in Moscow talking to the state expressing clear unequivocal support for Russia’s foray into Ukraine.”
According to Chang, the alliance between the two countries is more than just words in a joint statement, and China has been supplying military assistance to Russia. Chang cited open source reports that China has been feeding Russia location data from the Chinese-made drones that Ukraine has been using for military surveillance. “China knows the location of those drones. It’s been supplying that data to Russia so that Russia can kill the Ukranian drone operators.”
