The Madison Republican Committee (MRC) hosted the Saturday Night Live superstar and NYC-radio AM970 Morning Show phenom Joe Piscopo on October 8, 2019. The MRC was also thrilled to invite the brilliant and beautiful Madison Gesiotto to join the stage with Mr. Piscopo at the North Star Club in Madison, NJ. The two nationally prominent celebrities led the evening of light-hearted and humorous entertainment while also discussing the current political climate.

This was Mr. Piscopo’s third year in a row of performing in Madison. MRC Chairman Joseph Falco Jr. says that Mr. Piscopo’s grandfather was a rose grower here in our Rose City back in the 1890s and was laid to rest in Madison’s Saint Vincent’s Cemetery, in which three generations of the Falco family are also interned.

Madison Gesiotto was President Trump’s Chair of Young Americans for Trump 2016 and is now a Co-chair of Women for Trump 2020. She is a former Miss Ohio and finalist in the Miss America Contest. Ms. Gesiotto returned to her alma mater, Ohio State, to earn a law degree soon after. She was also on the USA Olympic skating team and appears on many national television and radio programs.

Mr. Piscopo spoke about the opportunities granted to him in Madison and how his family is both indebted to our town and to the United States of America.

A packed house, with residents from Madison, Chatham, Chatham Township, Florham Park, Harding, New Vernon, and Summit listened as Mr. Piscopo sang My Home Town, a song made famous by Frank Sinatra, and then launched into a comical tune about New Jersey. Mr. Piscopo spoke about the opportunities granted to him in Madison and how his family is both indebted to our town and to the United States of America.

Mr. Piscopo and Ms. Gesiotto both remarked on the positive direction they felt our country is heading in, such as having the strongest economy in the world and the best-performing stock market ever. They also discussed our recent successes in the area of legal and safe immigration and in the overall economy, such as the all-time low unemployment rate for not only black and other minority Americans but also for our entire nation in general.

Madison Gesiotto additionally pointed out that “military strength and morale are strong once again.” And that “world regard for our way of life and our economy is far-reaching!”

“Our nation is on an incline, whereas Europe, Russia and China are on the decline. Prosperity and safety for all Americans has no vote, no party affiliation. This is a basic tenant of our democracy and our republic,” noted Ms. Gesiotte. “Our allies in NATO and across the globe are mindful and respectful of America once again and [are] stepping up.”

“The tariffs on wrongful and illegal intellectual-property theft and currency manipulation are resonating [with] all countries,” Ms. Gesiotte said.

Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner, accompanied by the fine wines and craft beers offered. The next day while on the AM970 Morning Show with Joe Piscopo, Ms. Gesiotto gave our Rose City its props when she announced on the air:  "I attend events all over the county as a Miss America contestant and for Republican gatherings, and this was the finest gathering of people and great Americans that I have ever had the privilege of meeting! . . . I met so many amazing individuals and am so happy to have been in Madison, New Jersey.  It was like being home!"
