Madison, NJ News - In what was described by some as the biggest event ever organized by the Madison Republican Committee, Joe Piscopo overwhelmed a crowd of over sixty last night in Madison, New Jersey for a GOP fundraiser to assist 2017 Republican Candidates for Borough Council Denis Schreiber and Ron Hendrickson to victory in their race this November.
Television, film, theater, nightclub — they are all fields in which Joe Piscopo has won the acclaim and affection of millions. For over 25 years, Joe has proven to be one of show business's brightest lights. Replacing the original cast of Saturday Night Live, by the time he left the show in 1985, his impersonations — from The Sports Guy and Doug Whiner to David Letterman and, of course, Frank Sinatra, who repeatedly endorsed Joe's portrayal of him, referring to Joe as 'The Vice-Chairman of the Board," became popular throughout the country.
Mr. Piscopo now has the prestigious morning radio slot 7:00 – 9:00 on 970 AM. Recently he has had guest appearances with Pat Buchanan, Peter King, Bo Dietle, Roger Stone and even the great Broadway and Film Critic Jeffrey Lyons and our own Jon Bramnick.
And here's something I bet you didn't know — Joe Piscopo’s grandfather immigrated from Avelino, Italy in 1895 and lived in Madison! His grandfather worked in the rose industry here. So, you can say that the Rose City are his roots!
So this was in many ways a homecoming for him. He greeted everyone personally, signed autographs and posed for photos and "selfies" with all. His God-loving, America-loving and People-loving manner shines through. If you were not with us, you missed a spectacular evening with many of the state, county and local leaders.
A warm thanks to Joe Piscopo for lending a hand in Madison and creating a memorable evening for all those who attended.
